Often called the budget Kilimanjaro, Mount Hanang is a striking extinct volcano rising above the Rift Valley near Katesh. This two-day trek climbs through farmland, forest and moorland to a dramatic crater-rim summit at 3,417m, wrapped in the culture of the Barabaig people.
Travel to the town of Katesh at the foot of the mountain, meet your local guide and climb through farmland and forest to a high camp on the moorland.
